Our Story

My name is Shani Sofer. I served in the IDF for 9 years as a naval officer in the Navy, and later as an intelligence officer in AMAN.
When I was a child, I lost my uncle, Daniel Haroush, in a suicide bombing.
As I grew older, I realized that I never managed to overcome this invisible wound.

During my military service, I was exposed to soldiers dealing with invisible injuries – they leave the army physically healthy, but emotionally scarred. Those same soldiers who enlisted in good health to protect us, find themselves without proper support after the injury, which sometimes appears only years after their service. In Israel, dozens of organizations seek to help these invisible warriors, but many are unaware of the rehabilitation options available to them, and sometimes are ashamed to seek help.

After my release from the army, I decided to do everything I could to improve the situation of those who fought for us, and now we must be there for them. Together with Ohev Givati, a major in the reserves and my husband, we decided to develop a platform that brings together in one place all the relevant rehabilitation programs for soldiers, allowing easy access to rehabilitation processes quickly and without bureaucracy. As part of the Invisible Album initiative, we also operate a volunteer network that personally accompanies the soldiers and their families.

We also realized that it is not enough to provide the solution – it must be made accessible to the public and the stigma around invisible injuries must be changed.
That’s why we created a short and special film that tells a story of victory, about a soldier who faces his demons in a process of growth and healing from trauma and loss.
The creation moved hundreds of thousands, leading thousands of released soldiers and their families to our website and from there to tailored rehabilitation processes.
We hope that the creation will touch millions of Israelis through the screens, spark healing conversations, and motivate tens of thousands to begin a true rehabilitation process.
